Margaret Boyd was born on November 29, 1933 in Staunton, VA, a daughter of the late James Winston Berry, Sr. and Mary Margaret (Lohr) Berry.
She attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton where she earned degrees in Elementary Education and Music. Before moving to Luther Village in Ellicott she lived in Crofton, MD for 40 years. She was a 1st grade teacher for 31 years, primarily in Prince George’s County. She was a charter member of Community United Methodist Church in Crofton and held numerous positions of leadership within the church. She was a 9-hole golf champion at both the Crofton Country Club and the Ventura Country Club in Orlando, FL. She loved the beach, reading, quilting, and watching all sports.
In addition to her husband Keith of 67 years she is survived by her sister, Mary Lou (Berry) Fogg and her husband James “Jim” of Peachtree City, GA, her nephew, Randy Keith Fogg of Fayetteville, GA, her niece, Robyn Winston (Fogg) Owsley of Auburn, AL and her niece Heather Lohr Berry of Staunton, VA. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Winston Berry, Jr. and his wife Gale of Staunton, VA.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 3:00pm at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home (16000 Annapolis Rd. Bowie, MD 20715).
The family will receive friends starting at 2:30pm at the funeral home. Internment is private.
