Mary Louise Long (Mary Lou), 86, passed away peacefully on March 30,2026. All of her children were with her when she passed. She was born on June 8, 1939, in Washington, D.C., to Charles E. and Louise Knott.
Mary Lou lived with her fiance, Elwood Loh, and was a devoted mother to her children: Pat Long, Mike Long, Trish Gedrich, and Denise Shiflett. She also had eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Mary Lou was a loving mother whose kindness and warmth touched everyone around her. Though she has passed, her spirit remains with all who knew her, in every memory, every smile, and every gentle moment.
A Graveside Service & Interment will be held at Gate of Heaven, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20906, on April 6, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
