

Norman James Constantine, Jr., age 73, of Bowie, MD, beloved husband of Carol (Wheeler); loving father of Gregory (Kerri) Constantine, Karen (Brady Skiles) Constantine, Margaret (Daniel) Reiner; proud grandfather of Grady, Carmen and Giorgia Constantine, Charlotte and Wesley Reiner; dear brother of David Constantine, and the late Kathryn DelBello.
Norman passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2024 surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on September 20, 1950 in Buffalo, NY to Norman James Constantine, Sr., and Rosemary (Muther) Constantine. He received his bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State University. Following graduation, he served in the military as a US Naval officer.
Following his service in the Navy, Norman earned two masters degrees from the University of Maryland, he devoted his career to private school education. He was a passionate school teacher for more than 40 years, beginning his career at the Newport School in Kensington, MD, where he taught for nearly 20 years. He also taught at St. Alban’s School in Washington, DC, Wakefield School in The Plains, VA, and St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis, MD. His teaching career continued beyond retirement, teaching chess at the US Chess Center in Silver Spring, MD.
A devoted youth soccer coach, avid train lover, chess player, and life-long Buffalo Bills fan, Norm was a living legend to family, friends, students, and everyone he met.
A visitation will be held at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home in Bowie, MD 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715, from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
