

Virginia Louise (Webster) Collett, 95, of College Park MD and a former, longtime Hyattsville MD resident, passed away suddenly on September 1st 2016. Virginia was born on November 26, 1920 in Dayton Ohio to the late Helen and James Webster. She grew up in Dayton Ohio and moved to Washington DC after the death of her Father when she was only 5 years old. Virginia at the age of 18 lived with her sister Joann Martin and grandmother Opel Cline, after the death of her mother. She retired from Prince Georges County Schools after 17 years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, the late Robert Lee Collett, who passed away on September 19th 1997. She leaves her three children Robert David Collett (Peggy), Carol Louise {Martin} Tutz (John) and Ronald Lee Collett (Beverly), her grandchildren, John D. Martin, Sr., James R. Martin, Robert D. Collett, Jr., Kerrie Flaherty, Donald W. Collett, Ryan Collett, Michael Collett and Ronald Collett, Jr.,14 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren and other family members. Virginia was a loving Mother and devoted wife who enjoyed the simple things in life with being a lady of few needs or wants. The family will receive friends at the Robert E. Evans Funeral home from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 with a service Wednesday September 7 at 10AM with interment in Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
