Sandra Kay Payton

April 5, 1940 to March 11, 2016. Died suddenly of a heart attack at her winter home in Largo, FL. Sandy was born

in Buffalo to the late Frank and Alice Sklener. She was the sister of the late Sharon and James, the much loved

and devoted wife of Robert Payton for 53 years; most loving mother and mother-in-law of Shelly and Tim O’Hara,

Susan and Jeff Kirisits; grandmother of Hannah, Haley and Avrey Kirisits, who she believed the sun rose

and set for. She devoted countless hours raising money for Children’s Hospital of Buffalo as a member of the

Variety Club of Buffalo for 37 years. She was elected woman of the year in 2010. Every Christmas, she made

hundreds of care packages for the resident patients at the VA hospital. She retired as Office Manager of the family

business in 2012 which allowed her to spend as much time possible loving her granddaughters and never missed

an opportunity to attend their events. She had a special place in her heart for all animals and was very active in

all causes to help and support. She was kind, sensitive and very humble. Sandy will be deeply missed by all
