Donald J Drury Jr.

Donald J. Drury Jr., 86, of Gilbertsville, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 19, 2026. He was the loving husband of Frances (Bishop) Drury, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Born August 3, 1939, he was the son of the late Donald J. and Helen (Ficker) Drury.

Donald leaves behind a legacy of hard work, passion, and a lifelong love of racing. A dedicated entrepreneur, Donald built his own business from the ground up, growing it into a respected automotive machine shop through years of skill, determination, and pride in his craft. When asked what engine was his favorite to work on, he would reply, “the one I'm working on now”.

Beyond his work, Don's true passion was found on the track. From racing on the streets as a teen, to a drag racing career as a young adult. He gave up his racing career to foster his love of the sport in his son Kevin. From quarter midgets to competing in sprint cars, the whole family embraced the thrill of racing and the community that came with it. His love of racing was a defining part of who he was, and he carried that enthusiasm throughout his life. Donald will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his competitive spirit, and the way he pursued what he loved without fear or hesitation.

In addition to his wife Virginia, Donald is survived by his sons, Kevin Drury, husband of Kathy, Gene Drury, and Andrew Drury, husband of Yvonne. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alliana, Dylan and Ryan. Donald was predeceased by one grandson, Justin, son of Andrew and Yvonne Drury.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 beginning at 10:00am, at the Limerick Garden of Memories Chapel of the Good Shepherd, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA 19468. A funeral service will follow in the chapel. Burial will take place following the funeral in the cemetery.
