John C. Yocum IV

Born in Reading he was the son of John C., III and Carol A. (Ream) Yocum of Boyertown.

John was a 1986 graduate of Boyertown High School.

He was a life member of the Boyertown Friendship Hook & Ladder Fire Company and also was a volunteer with the fire police. John was a dispatcher for the State Police in Norristown; also with the Berks Communication Center. He was employed on the Ambulance Corp. of Boyertown, Bally and Southern Berks., also working in the Goodwill in Pottstown. He also served in Berks County as a Constable and was a member of the Pottstown Quoit Club.

Surviving with his parents John and Carol are two uncles, Scott husband of Brenda Ream of Reading and Bruce West of Barto; two aunts, Louise Ream and Cathy ream both of Reading. John is also survived by his cousins and their families.

Funeral services are 1 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 111 North Reading Avenue, Boyertown. The Reverend John G. Pearson of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boyertown will officiate.

A viewing will be Tuesday between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Oley Cemetery, Spangsville, PA.
