Born in Greensboro, NC. He was a son of the late Robert G. Worthington I and Nancy H. (Ashcroft) Worthington of Montgomery County, PA.
Robert completed his Master of Divinity from Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary. He then went on to be a Missionary in the Philippines for 16 years and continued serving for an additional 20 years in and around NY and CT as the Director of Catskill Mountains Missionary Association and then as a Missionary on Special Assignment with Baptist Church Planters.
He is survived by his children, Crystal Joy wife of Mark Reid of Casper, WY., Sharon Kim wife of Christopher Barnes of Red Lion, PA., Robert G. II husband of Kaitlyn Worthington of Ocklawaha, FL, and Cheryl Lee wife of Cody Smith of Coopersburg, PA. A sister, Joyce C. Worthington of Greensville, SC and a brother, Scott B. Worthington of Sellersville, PA. Robert is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at the Slate Belt Nazareth Baptist Church 1620 Church Rd. Pen Argyl, PA. 18072 on Friday August 25th at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held at the Limerick Garden of Memories 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA 19468 on Saturday August 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
