She was born in Norristown, PA. The last surviving daughter of Margaret and Walter Grater.
Shirley was employed for over 30 years as a Lathe Operation for Synthane Taylor which produced airplane parts.
She is a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oaks, PA.
Shirley is survived by her children, Janice wife of David Staleny of Ventura, CA., Carol wife of Gerald Long of PA. and Bruce Ashton of Mahaffey, PA. Grandchildren, Michelle Richart, Michael Murray, Marc Hildebrand and Allison Schock. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
Services are private at the convenience of the family.
