Joseph B. Fanchi

Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Fanchi; his brother, Louis Fanchi; and his parents, Louis and Margaret Fanchi. He is survived by his wife, Caroline; his two children, Lynn Nucci and Ken Fanchi (Lisa); Lynn’s partner, Ray Rowland; and three grandchildren, Alyssa Nucci, Genna Nucci, and Colin Fanchi.

Joe graduated from DePaul University in 1958, where he was active in the ROTC program and, upon graduation, was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. After his service, he returned to academia to earn an MBA from the University of Chicago. He then built a long and distinguished career in finance, ultimately retiring as Chief Financial Officer of Skyline Corporation in 1997.

In retirement, Joe found joy in golfing, traveling, taking afternoon naps, and spending time with his family and friends. Alongside Caroline, he had the adventure of visiting all 50 states and many countries over the course of his life. He was a husband, father, and grandfather who approached life with a calm, easygoing spirit. His warm presence and wise counsel were an inspiration to all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

A private ceremony will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
