On January 22, 2026, Albert Ricardo Nascimento passed away peacefully at the age of 86, surrounded by the love of his family at Brampton Civic Hospital.
Born in Georgetown, Guyana, Ricardo was the cherished son of Albert Oscar Rodrigues Nascimento and Naomi Clara Nascimento. A man of quiet strength and profound wisdom, he was the pillar of his family. While we mourn his loss, we find comfort in knowing he is now reunited with the love of his life, his late wife, Joan.
Ricardo will be remembered for his sharp wit, his sense of humor, and the deep care he took in maintaining his relationships. He was a devoted father to Philip, Nicole (Mark), and Francesca (Lee). His legacy lives on through his grandchildren—Patrick (Hayley), Nathan, Alannah, Stavros, Seamus, Marisa, and Shawna—and his step-grandchildren, Karter and Sawyer, all of whom looked to him for guidance and will miss his storytelling.
He is survived by his sister, Maria Teixeira. He joins his late brothers, Anthony and Patrick, in peace. Ricardo also held a special place in his heart for his extended family, including Maureen Decambra (Anthony), Simone Lee (Doug), and Ronald Nascimento (Diana).
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Andrews Community Funeral Centre - Bramalea Chapel (8190 Dixie Road, Brampton) on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church (8530 Chinguacousy Road, Brampton) on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.
There will be a reception at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 609 at 1:15pm following the burial.
