On Thursday, December 11, 2025, Anton Hamma quietly slipped into God’s presence from complications with pneumonia and heart failure. Beloved husband to Waltraut (Trudy) Hamma for 68 years. Father to two sons Bernard (Kimberley) and Ralph (Sandy) Hamma. Grandfather to Amanda Hamma, Kristien (Kristina) Hamma, Nikolaus Hamma (Sylvia Barys), Rebecca (Ryan) McClendon and Viktoria (Andrew) Burse. Great grandfather to Illyanna, Vincent, Jack, Frankie and Bosco. Tony is survived by his nephew Norman (Tina) Hamma. He is predeceased by his parents Theodore and Helena Hamma who lived in Nendingen, Germany, where Tony was born.
Tony lived a long fulfilling life with many accomplishments and interests, including a long successful career with Benson and Hedges, technical courses in Europe, and many other pursuits such as boat building, sailing, travelling, photography, gardening, renovating and genealogy.
Tony attended the St. John Fisher Parish in Bramalea with is wife Trudy, for many years. To Trudy, he has always been a good husband. He participated in family gatherings with his sons and their families. Tony embraced his Catholic faith throughout most of his life placing his sons Bernie and Ralph in Catholic education. Tony knew that Jesus died for his sins and that his faith in Jesus Christ, would allow him to spend eternity in Heaven. During his recent days, he asked his son Bernie what his present purpose was in life, and Bernie told him, it was to love God and to love others. We will miss you Tony, Dad and Opa.
Psalm 16:11 says “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right-hand pleasures forevermore.”
Tony is experiencing God’s presence, joy and pleasures today!
We ask for your prayers for Trudy, his dedicated and loving wife, and for all of the family.
