What can I say about my dad? He was a strong leader, hard-worker and generous man. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends. He lived to make them happy. Family was everything to him.  
Being in a family of eight, it was financially difficult to travel outside of North America. So Mom and Dad took us on a lot of road trips. We drove to Philadelphia, Virginia, Florida, and even as far as Texas. And closer to home, I have great memories of renting cottages where we enjoyed fishing, swimming and playing a lot of games including mahjong. 
And if you know the Ebron family, you know that food was always a big part of our celebrations. For major celebrations, planning usually started at least a month ahead, beginning with choosing a theme, then setting a menu that would please everyone. My parents loved cooking, but most of all enjoyed watching their family and friends appreciate their feasts. 
Every Friday night, for the past several years, Rick and I bring our kids to my Parents’ house so the cousins can spend time together.  Every week, we looked forward to their delicious cooking, and a night of playing poker. These special weekly get-togethers will never be the same. But I know that they will be looking down upon us and will be with us in spirit saying “All in”.
My parents didn’t have it easy here in Canada. We all had to contribute in some way to make this family work. Even though both my parents are no longer with us, I know that what they taught me about family and working together will always be in me. That no matter what differences you may have, disagreements you encounter, there is nothing more important than family. I am glad and appreciate the closeness I have with my siblings. They have helped me in this awful process of grieving, first for our mom and now our dad. It feels like I just lost Mom yesterday and now, Dad. The only consolation I feel is that I know Dad is happy to be re-united with his sweetheart. He has missed her so much. He has also joined his dearest friend Tito Vic, who he also missed very much since his passing in December.  I can only hope to have the love that my parents had for each other, and the strong and devoted friendships they developed during their lifetime in my own. 
My fondest and most treasured memory of my mom and dad were during my college years. During those early years, my parents worked long hard hours and spending quality time with them was not always possible. When I started college, my brothers and sisters were often busy working or socializing with friends, and I was usually left at home with my parents. So we started a routine. Every Friday night, my parents and I would go out to dinner, trying different restaurants and different types of food. Being the youngest of six children, having ‘alone-time’ with my parents was rare, so I cherished this time together.  We had very interesting conversations and we laughed quite a bit and of course, enjoyed the food together. Thank you mom and dad, I will never forget those special times we had together.
I will truly miss Dad. He had such charisma and charm. I love you so much Dad, you will always be in my thoughts and heart forever.

Kuya Boni was much more than a brother to us.  We looked to him as our "kuya" which bears honor, love and respect.  He had so many endearing qualities that made him very likable, and for this he was beloved and admired by many.  I don't know of anyone that disliked him.  I've always admired his firm commitment to his family and love for his family.  He always said, "Family comes first", and truly lived up to this adage.  As well, his generosity was admirable and contagious.  He will be missed greatly, but surely, your wonderful dad, lolo, and our brother will be in our thoughts and prayers always.

"We will always remember 'Kuya' as our great brother with a loving heart, who successfully lived his life to the fullest. We admire his deep love for his family specially to his wife, Ate Linda. He wanted them to be always happy, loving and close to each other. He truly lived an adventuresome life even since when they were here in the Philippines, moreover his passion for photography is also remembered. He must be very proud of how his sons and daughters have been. And indeed, this will also not be possible without the good guidance of 'Kuya' being the head of the family to his children. We hope and pray for God's bountiful blessings to the family. And that they may continue to live in faith, hope, joy and love always. ~'Kuya', we love you and we will always remember you in our hearts!~"

My Dad’s heart was not so strong.  It always gave him problems during the later part of his life.  But it was big!  His love for Mom was true during their younger years when all they thought of was partying, right through to her final days when she was sick.  In spite of his own health, he took full care of Mom 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  He took care of his siblings and family as best he could.
My Dad’s back was not so strong either.  It used to be strong when I was little and he used to carry me on his back, only to throw me in the deeper part of the water.  He laughed with me to make it fun and so I wouldn’t be afraid of the water anymore.  He broke his back working three jobs to support his family.  When I got older, his back was not so strong anymore but he still managed to carry me on his back and pull me through some scary and difficult times. 
My Dad’s arms were not so big nor did they have big muscles, but they gave great hugs. I will never forget the feeling of being carried by him when I was small.  I always played with the little skin tag he had in the back of his neck.  I felt safe!  When I was older my Dad’s arms were just strong enough to guide me with little nudges and help me make some very difficult decisions.
My father’s hands were not extraordinarily strong.  But they were certainly strong enough to give me spankings when I misbehaved, and strong enough to hold my hand and pat my back when I did something he was proud of.  He rarely built anything with them because that was not his talent.  
His talent was in making lasting relationships.  With this talent he could make you feel welcome, comfortable and important.  He built friendships that lasted.  He kept in touch even with friends from his teenage years.  Through thick and thin they shared their sorrows and happiness.  
Friends have praised me for taking care of my Dad during his late years, but now that I think about it I can’t help feeling that he was the one taking care of me.  I wasn’t always available to help him and many times I even grumbled. On the other hand, he was always there for me giving me everything he’s got.  There was not a better father.  
I was able to cope with the loss of my Mom by the presence of my Dad.  And now that they are both gone I take comfort in believing that although I will miss them terribly, Mom and Dad are together again and watching over us.

Dearest Tito Boni,
It was an honour & a pleasure to have met you during my visit there in July, 2009. Your warm welcome always made me feel at home & part of the family... for that I thank you! I am glad to have met such a wonderful person! Now, though you are gone, I know you are reunited with Tita Linda... please say 'hi' to her for me & as my promise to her, don't worry, I will take good care of Dennis! Bye for now... till we meet again! I will miss you...
