SMYTH, Bryan – Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in Brampton, Ontario. Taken too soon from his beloved wife Clare (neé McDermott) and cherished son Aidan. Pre-deceased by his parents Betty and Michael Smyth. Originally from Huddersfield, Yorkshire, UK, Bryan was a generous, humble, unassuming and naturally funny man who was loved by his family and many friends here and around the world. He was a dear son-in-law to Christy and Pauline McDermott and much-loved brother-in-law to Eugene McDermott (Miriam), Sean McDermott, Noreen Santilli (David), and Stephen McDermott (Julie). ‘Uncle Bryan’ was treasured by nephews Reilly and Ethan and nieces Kate, Lauren and Marie. Bryan was the world’s most loyal Liverpool FC and England national team supporter and was devoted to friends and brothers-in-arms Tommy Finn (deceased), his wife Marlene and their sons Thomas and Kevin; Aubrey Taylor, his wife Mary and their children Melissa and Kyle; and Paul Parker, his wife Sue and their children Devon, Kurtis and Elliott. A hardworking tradesman, Bryan liked nothing more than being in the company of his family, meeting up with friends for a pint, and helping those close to him. We will remember his funny stories, his love of music, football, little dogs and cheeky cats, his wonderful breakfasts and mashed potatoes, and especially his generosity. “You’ll never walk alone.” Friends may call on Tuesday, July 6 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Andrews Community Funeral Centre, Bramalea Chapel (8190 Dixie Road, Brampton, 905-456-8190). Funeral Mass on Wednesday, July 7 at 11 a.m. at St. Marguerite d'Youville Church (2490 Sandalwood Parkway E. Brampton, corner of Torbram Road and Sandalwood). Cremation to follow. If desired, a donation in lieu of flowers may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Tributes may be made at www.andrewscommunityfuneralcentre.com
