

Ed was a wonderful husband, papa, lolo, kuya, son, and friend. He leaves behind his three children, Eduardo Jr. Avenir, Christopher Avenir, Stephanie Avenir-Wilkinson and his son-in-law Rob Wilkinson; his grandson Robbie Wilkinson; his sister Ma. Angelina Avenir-Merkel; his brother Enrico (Boy) Avenir. He was preceded in death by his parents, Telesforo and Rosario; his siblings, Edgardo, Rosario (Baby), and Virgilio (VG).
He was born in Manila, Philippines on September 16th, 1952. He grew up in the UP area of Quezon City and was always known for being the caretaker of the family. Ed and Perry first met at the University of the Philippines, where their love started blossoming and they continued to share this love throughout their long and happy marriage for 44 years. They were married on December 30th, 1978. They had three children together and immigrated to Canada with their family in 1988. Ed was a hard-worker who retired from the Ford Motor Company of Canada as an assembler after 24 years of service. Ed had a passion for music. He loved listening to jazz. He was a self-taught musician who loved playing his bass guitar and jamming with friends at home and as a choir member in church. Ed and Perry bonded over their strong faith in God. Since retiring, they shared a love for traveling and spending time at home with their grandson (apo), Robbie. Their last adventure together happened in Rome, where they were able to attend their last mass together at St. Peter’s Basilica.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26th (4:00-8:00pm) at Andrews Community Funeral Centre in Brampton. The funeral mass is on Wednesday, September 27th (11:00am) at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Mississauga. After the funeral mass, burial will take place at Glen Oaks Cemetery in Oakville. All family and friends are welcome.
