Born and raised in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, Daughter of Romeo and Estelita Dela Cruz, with her four siblings, Chona, Alma, Belen, and Zeny. Elsa was a devoted wife, married for 28 wonderful years to Edwin who cherished and adored her. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising their one and only son, Sam, whom she loved beyond measure.
Her passion for food and her ambition led her to fulfill her dream of owning her own restaurant, Elsa’s Lutong Bahay, where she was not just a businesswoman but also the heart and soul of the kitchen. As a chef, she poured love into every dish she made—her sinigang na isda, kare-kare, barbecue, and adobo were legendary, bringing people together and creating memories that will never be forgotten.
She lived her life to the fullest, embracing each moment with joy and purpose. Whether it was celebrating with family and friends, helping others, or achieving her dreams, she did everything with a generous heart and a bright spirit. Her travels brought her great joy—London, Korea, and even the playful monkeys in Japan were among her treasured memories.
Beyond her successful career, her greatest accomplishment was the love she gave and the lives she touched. She believed in selfless living and unconditional love, values she carried in her home, in her business, and in her faith. She was proud to provide opportunities to others, always believing in lifting people up and helping them grow.
Her presence was a source of happiness. She was joyful, cheerful, and full of life—never one for sadness, always choosing to uplift those around her. She found peace in reading the Bible, joy in watching teleseryes like Batang Quiapo, and comfort in cooking her favorite carioca. She loved pink roses, and pink was not just her favorite color—it reflected her warm and loving personality.
She found strength in her faith, holding Psalm 118:17 close to her heart: “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done.” And truly, her life was a testimony of God’s goodness. The songs she loved—Goodness of God, Paper Roses, Power of Love, The Way You Look at Me, and Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin—are echoes of her heart, her love, and her faith.
Her 50th birthday was one of her most cherished moments, and Beauty and the Beast was her favorite movie — a perfect reflection of her belief in love, kindness, and the beauty in life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edwin, her beloved son Sam, and sister Zeny and countless family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
As we remember Elsa, let us carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and joy. Let us celebrate her life as she would have wanted—with laughter, with warmth, and with gratitude for the beautiful memories she left us.
Elsa, your love, your laughter, and your light will remain in our hearts forever.
Rest in peace, and thank you for everything.
