Grant Edwards

EDWARDS, GRANT (WILLIAM DOUGLAS) AGE 70, formerly of Cornwall, Ontario and later moved to Toronto. Dear son of the late Herbert and Leona Edwards, Grant was a one of a kind entrepreneur. He built the largest outdoor sign Installation company in Canada (Grant’s Sign Service) and was involved in four active businesses which will carry on in his memory because of the long, hard, dedicated hours he gave. He was an electrician, an avid reader and should have been a politician. He was an avid boater (Freedom Again) who loved to spend time at his cottage on Rice Lake with his family, friends, and boaters. He loved to drive, travel and was always helping or giving advice to family, business associates and strangers. He was former President of the Sign Association of Canada, Active Member of the Brampton Power Squadron. He is survived by his wife, best friend and soul mate Marcia and brother Keith (Susan) Edwards and brother-in-law Art Chapman. He will be deeply missed by his children Doug (Monica) Dunn, Jaime (Lorne) Kallstrom, Grant Jr. (Charmain), Kevin (Jennifer Donnelly), Step son George Divitaris. Grant was the proud grandfather to Danielle (Erick) Bertsch, Dale Edwards, Angela (Scott) Foster, Kevin, Kieran and Hunter Dunn, Travis Dimou, Scott Murray. Great Grandson Arden Foster and nieces and nephews and cousins. Grant will be dearly missed by Marcia’s family. Grant was predeceased by his Father & Mother Herbert & Leona, sister Donna (Art) Chapman, brother Gary and sister-in-law Doris Edwards and son David Edwards.Viewing will be held at Andrews Community Funeral Centre, 8190 Dixie Road, Brampton, ON L6T 5N9 (905-456-8190) on Tuesday, July 2. Public from 5:00 -9:00 pm; Wednesday, July 3 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm with the service to follow 3:00 pm .In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Grant may be made to Participation House, Markham, ON.
