Maria Pamela Gan, affectionately known as Pam, passed away peacefully at the age of 50 at Brampton Civic Hospital. A loving wife to Jerry Gan and devoted mother to her only son, Yuan Gerrard Gan, she was the eldest of two daughters, born to Lourdes Pineda and Jose David Gamboa.
Pam was a woman of strength, grace, and boundless love. A breast cancer survivor diagnosed in 2018, she faced a second battle with ovarian cancer in 2024 with courage and unwavering faith. Though she did not recover, she remained an inspiration to many through her hospital blogs, uplifting spirit, and constant prayers.
Originally from the Philippines, Pam was a nursing graduate who moved to Canada in pursuit of a better life. Here, she found her calling as an Early Childhood Assistant at Songbird Montessori in Brampton, where she cared deeply for the children she worked with. She was known for her kind heart, joyful energy, and passion for helping young minds grow.
Pam’s dream was to be an actress. She proudly took part in acting workshops and was an extra in the film Silent Battle, playing a restaurant customer filmed at Republika. She also appeared in Golden Side Lechon in a scene Prayer in the Urn. These small roles brought her great joy and fulfilled a lifelong dream.
She found happiness in singing, dancing, blogging on her phone, and spending time with loved ones. She was a longtime choir member since the age of 15, and worked as a TFC agent, connecting people in the community. Her favorite color was pink, and she found great comfort in the music of Sharon Cuneta—particularly Kahit Maputi Na ang Buhok Ko, Bituing Walang Ningning, and Maging Sino Ka Man.
Pam’s proudest personal milestone was graduating from nursing school, and her most meaningful accomplishment was becoming a Canadian citizen—a dream realized after much sacrifice and perseverance. She taught those around her to never give up, to keep smiling, to pray through pain, and to always fight with hope and grace.
Pam, your beautiful voice, laughter, and spirit will echo in our hearts forever. You are no longer in pain. You are at peace. We all love you.
