Michael Anthony Broughton

May 27, 1968 – April 23, 2022

Michael Anthony Broughton passed away in Brampton Civic Hospital on Saturday April 23, 2022 at the young age of 53. Loving son to Thomas Anthony (Tony) and Brenda Margaret (Towers). His parents, who both predeceased him, were originally from Lancaster England where Mike loved to visit.

Mike sadly leaves behind his younger brother Alan, his loving Aunt Christine in England, his long-time companion Barb and many life-long friends.

Mike had such great memories of his entire life and all the wonderful people in it. He loved to share his stories and put great efforts into painting the entire picture. He loved with his whole heart and made sure everyone who was close to him, knew how much he cared for them. Mike was never afraid to wear his emotions on his sleeve.

Mike was fiercely protective of those he loved. He would step in front of anyone in trouble, if it meant he

could spare them pain.

Mike had a playful, mischievous sense of humour. When he laughed and smiled, it truly came from his heart. If there was a room full of people, you could be sure Mike was going to give them a chuckle at his own expense. When he made someone laugh, it warmed his heart to know that he contributed to that person’s happiness in that moment.

Mike was a true sports fan. He had an unwavering love for Manchester United, even having their soccer club logo tattooed on his forearm. When he was young, he was involved in many sports, including soccer and hockey. He had an important role as a goalie, which most certainly helped form his deep love of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Mike has left a hole in our hearts that cannot be filled again. He was warm and caring, and will be forever loved and missed by anyone that took the time to know him. He had a love for life and lived each day to the fullest. We were all blessed to have him in our lives!

Mike’s final act on this earth was to selflessly donate his organs, carrying on his legacy.

If he were here right now, Mike would tell us to move forward, live our best life, take time to be there for each other and just be happy.
