Sandra Grace Draga

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Sandra Grace Draga on March 30, 2022 in her 83 year. Daughter and only child of the late Ross and Thelma Whiteside. Missed beyond words by her ex husband Vito Draga and their loving children Cary (Sharon), Steve (Cindy), Mark (Lucy), Cathie, Lisa (Bill). Grandchildren Valerie, Sarah (Rob), Laura (Jeremy) Jason, Sondra, Kyle. She also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Sandra was so proud of her career in the publishing business. She retired after 30 years at John Wiley & Sons as customer manager where she created and maintained life long friendships that she continued to this day. She was a Silver Club member.

Never one to sit around, mum found many new passions in retirement. She was a devoted community volunteer, a member of Knightsbridge, volunteer and member at Flower City, VP of Friendship Club and proud member of TOPS. Mom was also a member of the Brampton Senior Citizens Club 106 where she absolutely loved her position in The Cardinals Choir…Christmas Concerts were mandatory!!

Mum loved her Bingo, girls trips, word search and bus trips adventures. She didn’t care what she was doing as long as she was doing something. We heard that often.

Friendships, and there were many of them. She cherished each and everyone of them and often spoke about how lucky she was to be so blessed. You know who you are!

Even in the quiet times at home, mum was never alone. Her grand-puppy Maggie was always by her side and we are sure she was waiting for mum. We take comfort in knowing they have each other again.

Finally, there are so many wonderful attributes that we can admire about Sandra. She was one strong lady, but the highest honour was being our mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was everything to her. She was a permanent fixture in the stands for all of us and we were so proud to call her mom. We are going to miss her. Love you mum!
