Peacefully, at the age of 88, Sydney, beloved wife of the late James. Dear mother to Ronald (Theresa) and Alan (Nancy). Cherished Grandma Syd to Garett (Cortney), Shannon (Andrew), Alexandra and Amanda. Gran Gran to Scottie. Loving sister to Peggie, Joan, Phyllis (Stewart), Robert (Jacqui) and Doris (Jim). Predeceased by her brother, Victor and sister, Noel. Sister-in-law to Ina.
Born in Holywood, Northern Ireland, Syd immigrated to Canada when she was 22 years old. After marrying Jim, they eventually settled in Brampton, ON to raise their family. Proud members of the Brampton Golf Club for 54 years, they loved the club and the people at it. The course was the backdrop to some of the greatest times of their lives.
In their later years, Syd and Jim were happiest on a lacrosse field, in an arena, or on the golf course, watching their grandchildren compete in sporting events.
Syd will be missed by many, she was unfailingly loyal and the best friend a woman could ask for.
Strong-willed and fiercely independent until the very end, Syd was a force to be reckoned with. Described as classy, elegant and regal by all those who were lucky enough to know her. If ever there was a lady, it was our Grandma Syd.

A celebration of life will take place on Friday, November 10th at the Brampton Golf Club from 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm. Please make a donation to The Hospital for Sick Children in her memory.
