Alfonso M. Suarez Sr., 77, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at his home in Brandon, Florida. He died peacefully in his sleep. He was surrounded by family. He was patient, loving, kind, caring, thoughtful, and considerate person. He moved to Brandon, FL in December of 1999 from Brooklyn, NY. He was a beloved member of the Primera Iglesia Metodista Unida de Brandon where he served as Lay Leader in past years. Alfonso was born on July 23, 1934, in Santana, Colombia and is survived by his wife, Alida Suarez; son, Alfonso M. Suarez Jr.; and two daughters, Monica Carrasquillo of Brandon, FL and Yvette E. Rivera of Pawlings, NY and three grandchildren. He also leaves behind several sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephew, and his church family who all loved him extremely. A memorial service will be held at Primera Iglesia Metodista Unida de Brandon, on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior and burial to follow at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, Brandon.
