Allen B. Parker, a cherished husband, devoted father, and proud poppa, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on March 1, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on January 30, 1942, in Van Wert, Ohio, Allen lived a life full of dedication, hard work, and love for his family.
After honorably serving in the Air Force from 1960 to 1964, Allen married the love of his life, Joan, on August 28, 1965. Their enduring partnership was filled with love and laughter, laying a strong foundation for their family. Allen and Joan made their home in Riverview, Florida, where they created a lifetime of memories with their children and grandchildren.
Allen retired after 22 years as a skilled electrician with GAF, where he was respected by his colleagues for his expertise and work ethic. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a man of many interests, including golfing, fishing, playing euchre and pinochle. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were expressions of Allen's love for the outdoors and his ingenuity.
Allen was a quiet man who cherished simple pleasures, like enjoying a good beer with his steak and spending quality time with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 59 years, Joan Parker; his children, Tracy Parker, Tammy Goetz, Brian Parker and their spouses; nine grandchildren and their spouses; and nine great-grandchildren, who will forever remember him for his gentle spirit, wisdom, and unconditional love.
Allen's life was a testament to the values he held dear: loyalty, perseverance, and the importance of family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to inspire his family and friends.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the wonderful folks at hospice for all their assistance and compassionate care during Allen's final days. Your support and dedication made a difficult time more bearable for our family, and for that, we are truly thankful.
