

Alvin Adolph Hecker, 93, passed away January 9, 2025 in Tampa, Florida. He was born August 26, 1931 in Park, Kansas to Martin and Frances Hecker. He had five siblings, three brothers Virgil, Gilbert and James, and two sisters Valerie and Darlene.
He graduated from high school in Oakley, Kansas, went to college for a year. He was drafted into the military and he was chosen to be a pilot and proceeded to the pilot training program. He did three tours in Vietnam as a pilot and retired at the rank of major. He retired to Florida where he continued his education. He went to work at Florida PreFab as a supervisor until his retirement.
He loved flying, trains, westerns, travelling and riding motorcycles. He loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hecker; sons, Kenny (Ruth), Bryan (Mary); daughter, Bonnie; grandchildren, Natalie, Monica, Justin, Patrick, Michael; five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald.
A funeral mass for Alvin will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at Nativity Catholic Church, 705 East Brandon Boulevard, Brandon, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the mass at the church. A graveside service will occur 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2025 in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 Southwest 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida.
