RUTHERFORD, Andrew Jackson “Jack” passed away on January 11, 2011 at the age of 87. He resided at John Knox Village in Tampa, FL. Chief Master Sergeant Rutherford, USAF (Retired) flew on 97 bombing missions in WW II, participated in the Berlin Airlift and flew into the Korean War zone during his 23 year Air Force career. Jack had a passion for sports, music, and his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 66 plus years, Winifred Showers Rutherford of Tampa, FL; his daughter, Susan R. Lewis and her husband Tom of Port Tobacco, MD; his son Andrew J. (Drew) Rutherford, III and his wife Debra of Valrico, FL; three grandaughters, Ashley, Katherine and Suzanne Rutherford, two great grandaughters, Autumn and Baylee. A memorial service will be held at John Knox Village Chapel of Peace Hope and Love on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:00 am. It is located at 4100 East Fletcher Avenue, Tampa FL 33613.
