

Anna Mae Harris, age 82, passed away March 20th, 2021. She was born June 22nd, 1938 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to Stephen Kollar and Anna Emma Kollar. She married her soulmate and one true love, Col. Jimmy Ray Harris, in November of 1974, who preceded her death in 2005.
Anna Mae was an avid gardener, talented sewer, painter, and enjoyed her time on the golf course. She was also a member in the Ladies of the Elks. Anna Mae possessed a servant’s heart and spent time volunteering for the American Cancer Society, and at her church, St. Clement Catholic Church, of Plant City, Florida.
Anna Mae worked at the pentagon, after graduating from Durbins Secretarial School, for the United States Air Force and later the United States Army. After multiple promotions, she worked in Vietnam in 1973, where she met her husband, Col. Jimmy Ray Harris. After returning from Vietnam, Anna Mae and Jimmy married in Fort Meade, Maryland, where they also lived. She retired in 1980, and together with Jimmy, moved to Florida.
Anna Mae was a devoted wife and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She treasured her relationship with her daughter and son in law, Charlotte & Michael Prater, and cherished her role as Nana, to her two grandchildren, Nicholas Prater, and Heather Stammen. She was also adored by her great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Drake, Vaughn, Maxine and Cole. Anna Mae had a vivacious personality and always made the people around her, and their pets, feel loved.
Please join us in celebration of Anna Mae’s life, on Monday, March 29th, at 12 noon. The service will be held at St. Clement Catholic Church, 1104 N. Alexander Street, Plant City, Florida 33563. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either St. Clement Catholic Church, or the American Cancer Society.
