

age 93, of Brandon, passed peacefully on December 27, 2013. Bertha was born in Grand Isle, Maine, the daughter of Henry & Louise Morneault. A beloved mother and grandmother, our “Memere” joins her husband, Albert, in the arms of our Lord. Married in 1943, the family moved to the Tampa area after her husband’s retirement from the US Army. Bertha devoted her life to her family especially her two sons. An accomplished seamstress, gourmet cook, and long time volunteer at the Life Enrichment Center and Most Holy Redeemer Food Pantry, she shared her love of roses and ceramics with the many people in her life. For the last 10 years she resided in Brandon and recently lived at Delaney Creek Lodge Assisted Living Facility. Bertha was a member of Nativity Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert, and grandson Corey. She is survived by sons Michael (Janet), & Peter (Marlene), grandsons Kevin & Brian (Liana), brothers James (Della), Louis (Pat), and Leo Morneault, sisters, Annette Daigle and Jeanine Pelletier. In addition, Memere was loved by her extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Delaney Creek for their love and care. Visitation services will be at Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon at 401 W. Brandon Blvd on Thursday, Jan. 2, 6-8 PM, with funeral at Nativity Catholic Church at 701 E Brandon Blvd on Fri., Jan. 3, 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Corey Daigle Scholarship at Nativity Catholic School in Bertha’s name.
