Charles proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his service, he spent many years working hard to provide for his family and dedicated the last 22 years of his career to Risse Brothers Uniforms.
Charles had a passion for tinkering with tech in his spare time and enjoyed bringing things back to life. He was also an avid sports enthusiast who loved supporting local teams and could often be found watching a game. While he remained loyal to his own teams, he patiently tolerated his wife Jean’s love for the Georgia Bulldogs.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Eckert; daughters, Tammy Jacobs (Jamie), Tanya Baskette; cherished grandchildren, Ashton Carpenter, Aiden Patten, Owen Jacobs, and Jonah Jacobs; brother, Leroy Eckert (Rhonda); sisters, Lana Gay and Sandy Eckert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his dry sense of humor, and the steady presence he provided to those who loved him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life for Charles will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2026 at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 West Brandon Boulevard, Brandon, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before at the funeral home.
Until we meet again.
