Christopher "Shawn" Jones

Christopher "Shawn" Jones, 51, peacefully went home to Heaven by his wife's side on March 14, 2026 in Valrico, Florida. Born on June 15, 1974 in Angeles City, Philippines, Shawn was a beloved husband, devoted father, loving son and thoughtful brother who lived a life marked by kindness, humility, and devotion to his family.

Shawn graduated from Centerville High School and pursued his passion for creativity at the Columbus College of Art and Design. Eventually, he found his professional calling in the IT field, where his intelligence and unwavering work ethic always served him well. Family was the cornerstone of Shawn’s personal life; he delighted in spending time with them - having comfy cozy movie night and family dinners at Nana and Papaw’s house were highlights of his days. His legacy also continues through the sharing of books, movies, video games - and dad jokes - all passions he shared with and that will live on through his wife and children.

Shawn is survived by his beloved wife Rebecca; his cherished children, Ali (Brandon) Ward, Jordan Gerber, Jarrod Jones, Jacob Samuel Jones, Jacob Daniel Jones, and Grayson Jones; his loving parents, Steve and Liz Jones; his steadfast brother, Nathan (Mindy) Jones. In addition, Shawn is remembered by aunts, uncles, cousins and many other extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

Shawn’s faith was a profoundly personal source of strength throughout his life. He held a quiet yet unwavering belief in God and knew Jesus as his Savior. Those who knew him remember him as a kind-hearted and considerate man who always put others before himself. His terrific sense of humor brought laughter to those around him, even during the most challenging of times. Shawn’s humility and caring nature left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life for Shawn will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 West Brandon Boulevard, Brandon, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. A private cremation service will follow and Shawn's final resting place will be at home with his family.

As we mourn Shawn's loss here on Earth, we also celebrate the love, joy and laughter we were so blessed to share with him, and take comfort in knowing Heaven rejoices in his homecoming.
