Wow!!! I have been trying to find my old schoolmates and came across Dewey's obit!!! I send my most deepest, heartfelt condolences  to Ruby and to Donna, with whom I lost touch with around 1980...... I am so truly sorry about Dewey!! He and I dated back in Jr. High, if that was what you would call dating.... just kid stuff/ puppy love... His dad was a heck of a mechanic and his mom was just as sweet as she could be!! Donna was my best friend and Dewey was my beau. This was probably around 1973 or 74, maybe!! I had a 1965 Chevy Malibu and as I was backing out of their driveway on Ohio Ave (?) in South Tampa, I cut it too sharp and my rear axle fell in the ditch that was on both sides of their driveway.... I truly hope I'm not too late in sending the Hughes family my sympathy, I was always a little late with everything!! God Bless you all!!!

 Hi everybody. Firstly, to Mark, Jeremy, Ruby, and especially Grandma I send my deepest sympathies and condolences. 

      It's very hard to see some you love and respect so much live through a real life catastrophe. I don't have any kids, probably won't for a while. But I know, now more than ever, that the hardest thing anybody can live through is losing a child. It's cruel, and it just ain't supposed to be like that. So to Grandma I say. We are all here for you, and we all love you so very much.

      Uncle Mark your passing has suspended reality for all of us. It was way too soon, and completely unfair on all accounts. It seems like just yesterday, I've noticed that I've been saying that alot lately. But it seems like just yesterday I was sitting right there next to you at your place just talkin, I don't even remember what about, but it didn't matter. I don't know if I ever told you this Uncle Mark, but I learned alot about life through that mindless chatter we once shared. And I thank you for that. 

      With that being said, I think his memorial should be a joyful one, and not mournful one. We, after all, have to keep in mind who's life we're celebrating, and what he would have preferred. Uncle Mark may not be sitting here with us today, but he will live in our memories for eternity.

Our deepest sympathy goes to Ruby, Mark, Jeremy, Darrell, Crystal, Donna and the rest of the Hughes family.  We still can't believe that Mark is gone, he had become a great friend to the both of us.  Anytime Danny would be in the driveway playing with the Chevelle Mark would come over to talk with him.  I remember Danny took him for a ride in the Chevelle not long ago, he loved it!!!  I would always be sitting on the front porch and anytime Mark drove by he would always wave at me.  Anytime I was going down the street and would see Mark on the front porch I would always wave and say "hi" to him.  It just won't be the same not having him around, he always told Danny if I needed anything and he wasn't around to always call him.  I had made a comment several times that I needed to get Mark's cell phone number so I wouldn't have to bother Ruby. I would always see his old blue pickup going up and down the street, it breaks my heart to know I will not see that pickup again with Mark sitting behind the wheel.
