Dorothy Peterson McCall

to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring. She was born on August 4, 1928, in Dunnellon, Florida to Timothy O. and Hattie Mae Peterson. She married Cecil K. McCall on July 22, 1950, in Jacksonville, Florida. They lived in Brandon and Riverview. Dorothy went back to school after her children were raised and received her Bachelor of Arts (1972) and Master of Education Degree (1977). She retired after 30 years as a teacher for ESE students at Plant City High School. They moved to Frostproof in 1984. She worked as a substitute teacher at Frostproof Elementary. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Frostproof. She enjoyed praying for and visiting those that were homebound, and she adored teaching the kids at Awana. She loved to encourage people and was a prayer warrior. She also was an extremely proud grandmother and loved her family deeply.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Kenneth McCall, her daughter Carol

Henkel and son Cecil Kenneth McCall, Jr, (Ken). She is survived by her daughter Joyce M. Fewox and husband W.R. Fewox. Grandchildren Danette Sconyers and husband Jerry,

Dorinda Hendry and husband Berry, Deleen Fewox, Jennifer Johnson, Darla Bell and husband Matt, Rachel Dew and husband Cameron. Thirteen great grandchildren and

seven great great grandchildren.

The Visitation and Celebration of Life service will be held on August 8, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Frostproof. The visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, with the service starting at 11:30 am with Reverend Darrol Hood officiating. A short committal service will be held at 3:30 pm at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd, Brandon FL 33511.
