Eddie was born at Tampa General Hospital on Jan 2nd, 1959, to parents Ed and Barbara Chancey. Having spent most of his life in the Tampa Bay area, Eddie passed away on May 31st at age of 59. He is survived by his sister, Debbie Chancey, and several friends and relatives whom he loved dearly. After graduating from East Bay High School Eddie spent his 41+ years of professional life in the Auto Mechanic/Repair Industry, both as a mechanic and an assistant manager. Eddie acquired numerous friends along the way. All of us who knew and loved him do so for many reasons, paramount being that he was a totally selfless guy who would do anything (and always be there) for others, usually without even being asked. The phrase `to know him is to love him’ is the best way to explain Eddie’s impact and lasting legacy.
Kids and pets also quickly responded to Eddie (especially his buddy Millie), as they could so easily sense the goodness within.
Eddie loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman; there is almost nothing he would rather have been doing with friends, or alone, as many happy hours were wiled away on the water awaiting a bite. To know Eddie was also to acknowledge he could be so very funny and witty. In fact when he got on a roll, hilarious one-liners would flow forth at a rapid rate, inducing belly aches from laughter. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life get-together will be scheduled in the fall time frame.
