Esther was born in Ciales, Puerto Rico to Pedro Juan Mestre and Maria Pagan on December 13, 1924. She married Juan Ortiz Torres on October 18, 1952, in Bridgeport, CT. A truly sweet soul, Esther lived an extraordinary life filled with dedication to her family, a passion for sewing, cooking, admiring beautiful flowers, and, above all, her love for God. She was so loved by many that most people affectionately called her “Mamá.” Her warm smile, generous spirit, and strong faith were the foundation of her life and a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She spent her life preparing for this moment to enter the kingdom of heaven, where her faith and devotion have guided her to her eternal home. Mamá will forever be remembered for her love, light, and unshakeable faith. It is a privilege to be part of the legacy she leaves behind.
