George J. Bauer

George while living in Leonia, NJ was active in many community activities including, former member of the Recreation Commission, former president of the Sports Boosters, former two time president of the Lions Club, deputy district governor, district cabinet secretary and treasurer of the Lions Club and former member of the Insurance Advisory Commission to local governments.

Upon retirement and moving to Sun City Center, FL, he was former president of the Men’s Golf Association, former president North Lake Association, former commodore of North Lake Yacht Club, chairman of the Insurance Commission of the Community Association for 14 years, co-founder and charter secretary and then president of the Sun City Center Lions Club, former deputy district governor, former regional chairman. and two years president of the Greater Tampa Lions Sight Fund.

He was also the recipient of the Lions Club’s Senior Master Key, International Extension Key and the International Award.

George was a man of God and dedicated to the Sun City Center United Methodist Church serving as a former member of the Methodist Church Choir and former vice president of the finance commission for the new sanctuary.
