Simons, Grace, 87 of Thonotosassa, went to be with Lord Wednesday, January 2, 2013. She was a member of Temple Heights Baptist Church for over 40 years and enjoyed helping with the seniors programs. Grace also loved gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Simons; parents Vassar and Lucy Burgess; sister, Lorene Lawson, Betty Ann Sapp; brothers, Harvey Burgess,Ovitt Burgess, Vassar Burgess, Paul Burgess; two nieces and two nephews. Survivors include her daughter, Bobbi Simons; stepson, Tom (Marianne) Simons; sister, Frances McEachern; 24 nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Grace was loved by everyone who knew her and leaves behind a loving extended family and circle of friends. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Saturday, January 5 and funeral service will take place 2:30 pm Sunday, January 6. All services will be held at Stowers Funeral Home.
