Herbert H Whisenant

Herbert (Herb) Houston Whisenant, Jr. of Brandon, Florida passed peacefully on July 11, 2022, at the age of 86. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Dawn Dupraw, son Michael Houston Whisenant, and grandson, Matthew David Whisenant. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Faye Whisenant; sister Dana Kae Vance; sons, Timothy Ray Whisenant and David Alan (Cheryl) Whisenant; grandchildren Carolina Dupraw, Crystal Lynn (Branden) Akens, Shannon Marie Whisenant, Zachary Alan Whisenant, and Kathryn Nicole Whisenant; and great-grandchild Hayden Dupraw.

Herb was a 50-year member of Brandon Masonic Lodge #114 where he was Master in 1995 and served as secretary for 12 years. He was also an active member of the Egypt Temple Shrine and was a past president of the Brandon Shrine Club. At one time he was an avid golfer and member of Buckhorn Springs for many years. In his retirement years, he enjoyed watching sports and keeping up with the many activities of his extended family.

The family will receive friends at Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery and Funeral Home, 2323 W Brandon Blvd. on July 19, 2022 from 11am to 12pm followed by a funeral service from 12pm to 1pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
