He was born on February 12, 1957, in Homestead, FL to James E. Floyd Sr. and Cynthia Floyd. Jim was a graduate of Robinson High School and went on to attend the University of South Florida, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jill, and his father.
Jim is survived by his mother, Cynthia; his sons, James (Krista) Floyd III and Jason (Christina) Floyd; his sister, Donna (Dave) Church; his grandchildren, James (Aleesia) Floyd IV and Carrleen Floyd; and his great-grandson, James Floyd V.
Jim had a passion for aviation, obtaining his private pilot’s license at 18. He was an avid fisherman. Jim and Jill enjoyed traveling with frequent trips to their home in Summerland Key, Las Vegas and visiting 39 of the national parks.
Jim will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his love, his strength, and his unwavering devotion to his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, on March 22, 2026, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. A Funeral and Committal Service will follow.
