

While raising her children Jean spent time volunteering at their schools and eventually accepted a position as a teacher’s aide. She ultimately made the decision to pursue her dream to be a nurse and returned to school graduating with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After thirty years, Jean retired in 2009 from Tampa General Hospital, as a Nurse Manager. She was a member of Brandon Seventh-Day Adventist Church for more than 40 years where she volunteered in various service ministries. Of all the ministries she led and participated in, Jean enjoyed giving children Bible studies, to show them Jesus’ love.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Allen Grattan; children, Thomas (Melora) Grattan, Mary (Mike) Smith, Gwen (John) Jacobs; grandchildren, Allen Rogers, Allison Rogers, Jordan Jacobs, Mavery Grattan, Joshua Jacobs, Grace Jacobs; siblings, William (Jean) Flandreau, Frances (Carol) Flandreau, Patricia Murray, Josephine Palen; sister-in-law, Jeanine Flandreau; many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Francis Westbrook and CSM James Flandreau.
A visitation for Jean will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Brandon Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1221 Victoria Street, Brandon, FL 33510. A funeral service will occur Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, 1221 Victoria Street, Brandon, FL 33510. A graveside service will occur Monday, April 4, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 S. W. 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jean’s honor to Moffitt Cancer Center.
