Jeffrey Kent Christy

On his birthday, Jeffrey suffered a major heart episode coming to rest with our Lord at LifePath Hospice in Ruskin, Florida on March 4, 2025.

After graduating from Scarborough High School with honors in 1986, a full academic and athletic scholarship was awarded to the University of Tampa where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1990. He also attended an internship program in Washington DC Center on the Republican Steering Committee and studied at New York University School of Marketing. The majority of his business life was spent as an Entrepreneur.

His main existence in life were his children, Jack Kent and Amelia Jane Christy and for the last 8 years, Alyssa Michelle Glidden. He never missed a game or event. Their every achievement was his greatest joy. He was also blessed to have a wonderful fiancé, Jennifer Glidden, who was his soulmate and best friend.

Jeffrey is also survived by his mother Susan Janson of Maine, father Rudy Matthews of Costa Rica, sister Noel Christy (Tony Infantine) of Maine, brothers from another mother, Jonathan Rogers of Philadelphia and Christopher Matthews of Costa Rica, lifelong friend Brian Johnson and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, especially Deborah Bovali.

Jeffrey’s family would like to thank the caring team at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Riverview and our friends at the Hospice House.

A celebration of life for Jeffrey will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 West Brandon Boulevard, Brandon, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

There will also be a celebration of life in Maine during the summer.

Jeffrey treated everyone he encountered with kindness and respect and will be deeply missed.
