Jewel is survived by her children, son James Rader, daughter Karen Surhoff, grandchildren- James Rader, Jeremy Rader, Jared Rader, Christopher Williams, and Shannon Williams. She also left behind 9 great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, and several brothers and sisters-Joyce Sheffield, Janice Dyke, Sharon Botelho, Justin Murray, and Julius Murray. She is preceded in death by her son, Billy Rader of Plant City, FL, and her siblings, Doris Moore, David Murray, Jeanne Stallings, and Dean Murray.
Jewel was born on February 5, 1935, in Plant City, FL to Clarence Murray and Gertrude Murray (Simpson). She married Billy D. Rader in 1953. Over 45 years, the couple welcomed 3 children into their home. Her children remember her as a caring mother who loved her family.
A visitation for Jewel will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, followed by a funeral service from 1:30 PM. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
