John Behr

BEHR, John U., born on February 8, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pa. was carried by the Lord peacefully in his sleep from home on August 22, 2013. He was a U.S. Army 82nd Tank Battalion veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Carpenters Union. John was an Usher and Altar Server at St. Francis Of Assisi Catholic Church in Seffner, Fla., and a member of the Ascribed Institute of Charity, and Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Claudia; and his five children and their families, son, Robert Behr and wife Ronna and their son and daughter, Christopher and Grace, son, John “Jack” Behr, daughter, Teresa Beck and husband Gary and their son Matthew, son, Donald “Dutch” Behr and wife Tammy; and daughter Jean Farshid and husband Fred and their son and daughter-n-law Dustin and Jerrica and their granddaughter to be Emrya; brother, Raymond and wife Linda and their children and grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Lung Association or to the Alzheimers Association.
