

ROSSA, Karl William, devoted husband, father, brother and son, 81, of Valrico, passed away to eternal rest, October 6, 2011. He participated in the original Sea Scouts in Tampa and was a Plant High School graduate and studied Industrial Arts at the University of Tampa. He was a United States Navy Korean War veteran and retired from CSX Railroad in 1987. He had a lifelong love of art and he designed and built the family home. Karl was a 356 Porsche enthusiast and great craftsman, loving the challenge of undertaking any mechanical, engineering, or woodworking project. His home was filled with expressions of his creativity and imagination. He volunteered at the American Victory Ship Mariners Memorial Museum where he was the Artist in Residence and Docent. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob. Karl is survived by his wife, Audrey; son, Michael; daughters, Linda Rossa (Scott Horvat) and Laura Mattheus (Todd); brother, Fred Rossa (Margaret); sister, Marie Boyd; and four grandchildren, Alyssa, Nathan, Christa and Emma Mattheus. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Stowers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Victory Ship, 705 Channelside Dr., Berth 27, Tampa, FL 33602.
