

Marilyn Elizabeth Cordero Venecia was born on February 12, 1954 to Higidio and Naomi Cordero in Manila, Philippines. She moved with her husband from California to Florida in 2011 settling in Valrico where she and her husband officially retired in 2016. She worked as a Paralegal and had her own column at the Asian Journal Newspaper in San Diego. Elizabeth's talents were many, she was an extremely accomplished seamstress and loved arts and crafts. She was part of the USMC Key Wives Volunteer Program which provided support for deployed Marines of her husband’s Unit. She had dedicated her life to God and most of all her family.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Rey Venecia of Valrico, Florida; daughters, Benabeth LaCour of Hawaii/North Carolina and MyraZoe and Angel Gaytan of Valrico, Florida; grandchildren, Allena and Dalton Fink, Gaje LaCour, lsaiah Gaytan, Noah Gaytan, ElijahRey Gaytan, ZerayahZoe Gaytan, sisters and husbands, Florami and Wyatt Lee of Monroe, North Carolina; Emily and Fadi Deeb of Charlotte, North Carolina.
A gathering of family & friends for Marilyn will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, followed by a celebration of life from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
