Went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 4, 2013, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 3, 1923, the child of Stone Victor Oberg and Hildegard Ward Oberg. She graduated from Gordon Keller School of Nursing class of 1943. She served as a First Lieutenant in the U. S. Army (Air Corps) during World War II and is honored on the Women’s War Memorial in Washington D.C.
Married to Stanley Cook in 1947, she was widowed at a young age and raised her three children while working full time and earning two college degrees, her B. S. in nursing from Florida State University and M.B.A. from University of South Florida.
She was a brilliant, strong, and loving woman, who set the highest standards for achievement and faithful service to God.
The family is deeply grateful to Tampa General Hospital’s doctors and nurses who showed our mother great kindness and respect and provided us with comfort during her final hours.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister Mary, her husband Stanley, and her dear son, David Stanley.
