Mary Louise Price, age 84, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, after a long fulfilled happy family life. Mary was born in Madison, Florida on December 15, 1940, to the proud parents of John Henry and Alva Ree Sealey. She attended Lee Elementary School and graduated from Madison High School. Mary had two brothers, Johnny Franklin Sealey, born in Madison, Florida and Richard James Sealey, born in Sarasota Florida.
On October 26, 1957, Mary Sealey married Carey Franklin Lamb Jr. of Madison, FL. They had two children, Brenda Sue Lamb, born August 15, 1961, in Lakeland, FL. And Michael Dewayne Lamb, born May 24th, 1965, in Lakeland, FL. On December 6, 1968, Mary Louise Lamb married Carlton Kenneth Price and had a son, Bruce Allen Price, born November 28, 1967, in Lakeland, FL.
Mary and Ken were the most loving and caring parents that any child could ever have. They were always putting the kids first. Every Sunday, we would go to Lakeland to our grandparents’ house. Our Granny Alva’s faith in the Lord was so amazing and she brought God into all of our lives. Mama grew up in a Christian home and we know that her faith took her to be with the Lord and many of our family members.
God looked around His garden
And He found and empty place
And then He looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, “Peace be thine.”
We can’t forget about the boiled peanuts that we stop and bought on the way to Grannies on Sunday. Mama loved her boiled peanuts. Mama was a schoolteacher at Palm River Elementary School and at Progress Village Elementary School for many years. She loved the kids, and the kids loved her as much as she loved them. She was a pillar in the Palm River community. She worked at East Bay Raceway and also at the Florida State Fairgrounds selling tickets and selling beer. Never missed a Friday or Saturday night at the racetracks. The only time that she got nervous at the racetrack was when her son Michael was out there racing on that track. She also used to go and watch her son Bruce race four wheelers. She loved it. Always was supportive of her kids. She served on the board at the Southeast Little League Team. Mom for both of her boys’ teams, never missed a game. She worked in the concession stand at Southeast to help out when she could.
She loved to “macrame”; she could make anything that you wanted. She was very talented with many things! Making jewelry, flower arrangements, selling tiara, coordinating and decorating special events and I always loved our mother and daughter time together at ceramic classes. She taught me a lot. Then we made ceramics from home. She also was a majorette mom. Always by my side in all of my parades. She was a tough mom but a fair mom and would protect her children to the end.
4th of July was special to the family from the time that we were kids to the grandkids and great grandkids. We were always at the beach in St. Pete for a week or longer and the fireworks were amazing!
But the best of all was her cooking! She really knew how to cook and always made sure that everyone had enough to eat and had what each one of us liked to eat. She was always wanting to take care of her family! Which she did very well! Her grandkids and her great grandkids were her heart!
Grandkids: Tiffany, Justin, Jarrett, jake, Macie, Tyler, Matthew, Cameron, Gabriella, Cassandra
Great grandkids: Hailey, Sadie, Brantlee, Laynie, Knox, Kollins, Kash, Parker, Caitlyn, Chelsea

On November 8, 2022 was when Mama’s and all of our lives changed. Her car accident led her to a new home at St. Andrew’s Rehabilitation Center but was not able to ever walk again. Melissa, heather, Don and many others were always making sure that they gave her the best of care that they could to keep Mama comfortable for her stay at St. Andrew. We will miss our Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother ver much! But she will live on in each and every one of our hearts forever!
We love you Mama
Rest in Peace
A graveside service for Mary will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 12:15 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511.
