

Michael Joseph Trimpert, 86, of Brandon, Fla, passed away on March 27, 2022. Michael was born on February 14, 1936 to Raymond James Trimpert and Elizabeth Gertrude (Reardon) Trimpert in the city of Danbury, Conn. Michael was appointed a Midshipman in the United States Navy in June 1953, graduated from The Naval Academy in 1957, and then accepted a commission in the United Sates Air Force. He received a Master’s of Business Administration from Auburn University in 1975.
Michael served honorably in the Air Force from 1957 to 1985. While in the Air Force, Michael acted as a planning and programming officer, a navigator, an air operations officer, and served in the Air Force Special Operations Command. While in service to his country, he was awarded the Meritorious Medal, Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Distinguished Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Defense Superior Service Medal. After retiring from the Air Force, Michael went on to work for Hillsborough County, Fla as an emergency planner for Strategic and Emergency Planning Operations where he remained until retirement in 2011. While retired, Michael had time to pursue his love of golf and travel.
Michael was predeceased by his parents and his sister Elizabeth Ann (Corky) Stroker. He is survived by his wife Ellen, his three children Michael, Kate, and Patrick; daughter-in-law, Keri; two grandsons, Matthew and Robert; great-granddaughter Aurora; his nephew, Jon Stroker; and niece, Sarah Stroker.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Greater Brandon Meals on Wheels Inc., P.O. Box 6578, Brandon FL 33508. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday April 8th at Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon, FL. Memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Clearwater, FL.
