She was born on March 16, 1929 to the late Annie Mae and Richard Lamb in Wauchula, Florida.
Myra retired from American Can Company, where she was a machine operator. She was a Christian and loved her Heavenly Father.
Myra grew up living what she had been taught; picking vegetables, preparing them, and canning was a big part of that lifestyle. She worked hard, was set in her ways, and she mostly got what she wanted. She was loved by many outside of her family, especially her church family and for that, we are grateful.
She is survived by her daughter ShiAnne Avery (Gerald), son Robert Almand (Kim), grandchildren, Kimberley Tettemer (Bill), Shawna Kelleher (Mike), Melissa Oufaaiz (Mustapha), Scott Almand (Ambar), Sherrie Almand; eight great-grandchildren; many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, James E. Almand; sons, James E. Almand Jr., Donald Almand; brothers, Richard Lamb and Howard Lamb.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Myra’s memory to the Florida Baptist Children’s home at: www.fbc.org.
