Paul was born on March 21, 1966 and raised in Holbrook, MA. He spent the last 23 years living in Valrico, FL. Paul is preceded in death by his mother, Mary L. Bergen (April 2017) and his father, William J. Bergen Jr. (April 1983). He is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Kathleen Stone, three brothers Bill Bergen (Carol deceased), Jeff Bergen (Barbara), Kevin Bergen (Pamela), sister Eileen Loftus (Tom), 11 nieces and nephews, and all the friends he met along the way.
Paul had a love for motorcycles and was fearless. His nick name soon became the wheelie king. He was preparing to race until he had an accident in 1987 which left him partially paralyzed. Paul never let his disability slow him down. He continued to work doing whatever odd job he could. He even had his own lawn mowing business for many years. He worked as long as he could until he was eventually wheel chair bound.
Paul was a fun loving guy, forever 16 in his mind! He loved collecting Harley shirts from all over the world. Always enjoyed Bike Week in Laconia, NH. And loved to get out and listen to his friend Ben play.
Paul loved being the center of attention and engaging with people. He was honored to be voted prom king in high school and it was one of his favorite stories to retell. Paul’s weekly phone calls to his brothers up in MA will surely be missed.
This past year, Paul enjoyed getting out in his new mobility van with his wife exploring new places and listening to music as they went on many adventures.
Paul loved his wife “To Infinity and Beyond” and he will always be her Boo Boo Bear.
