

He was born on July 8, 1967 in Tampa raised in Riverside Heights. Peter graduated Hillsborough High School and went on to obtain is Associate Arts degree at HCC. He work for the city of Tampa in the waste water plant for 15 years. Outside of work, he loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren children. He referred to this as “exploring Tampa” and taking them on eventful trips. He enjoyed every moment being around his family from Gasparilla days, dinners, and family gathering. After his retirement Peter spent his time creating memorable moments with his the family. He is famous for bringing his Karaoka drink that he learned from his grandfather Peter (Nano). Whom he is named after.
He is survived by his Daughter Jennie Hernandez, Steven (husband) and their 4 children Gianni, Alanna (step grand daughter) Gabby, and Gavin Hernandez, sister Valerie Zummo and her son Markdavid (nephew), Karen (wife), Marco and Gabriel (nephews); cousins Jovanna Hoagland, and her children Christopher (and his children) and Matthew (and his children). Vincent Ficarrotta, Gwen (finance) and his children, Gina, Vincent JR, Sara and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his father Sam C Zummo, mother Mary T Zummo, and brother Sammy Zummo.
A memorial will be held on January 4, 2026 at Hillsborough Memorial Gardens, 2323 Brandon Blvd Brandon, Fl 33511 beginning at 1pm. Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories of Peter.
The family wishes to thank caregiver Barbra for her compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mofit Cancer Institute in his honor.
