Reta Mae (Strawser) Duncan born on August 23, 1936, passed peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2022. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Horace Ronald (Rink), of almost 40 years. Reta is survived by only one of her siblings, her sister Ruth Graham. She is also survived by her children and their spouses. She was blessed to have a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even two great-great grandchildren. It was her great joy to have been in a five-generation picture, which meant a great deal to her, since she had hoped to live long enough to see that generation. Truthfully Reta has too many surviving family members to list here and in an effort to not omit anyone, we respectfully request that you understand why. Please know she loved you. If you were in her life, you were loved and you were like family.
During her 85 plus years here with us, Reta was an example of an accepting, loving, forgiving person who loved the Lord, Jesus Christ and wanted to show His love through her to the best of her ability to those He put in her life. She would be the first to admit she failed at times, but her best intentions were always foremost. Her faith in the Lord sustained her and hope in His promises are what she put that faith into. She tried to model the Lord’s love and acceptance and to the best of her ability shared her faith and hope to all who would listen. She battled breast cancer since 2006 and never stopped fighting it. Thankfully, she won that fight, as the Lord saw fit that it was not what took her in the end, but rather His timing, which is always perfect. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Services for Reta will be held at Grace Bible Church of Brandon on Saturday, March 26, 2022 beginning with a viewing for family and friends at 10:00 am, with a service following at 11:00 am. Location of church is at 1010 E. Brandon Boulevard, Brandon, FL. Interment will be at New Zion Cemetery in Ona, Florida.
